The California Market Center (CMC) performed its first runway show of the year on Tuesday in Downtown LA and I was in attendance front and center!  The show focused on new contemporary lines to the CMC showrooms, consisting of designers Darling – a London based brand, Blue Pearl – a new division to A.B.S. by Allen Schwartz, Amour Vert Paris – 100% Eco-friendly line, Eva Varro International – made in the USA alternate to euro lines, Hippietiques – retro-chic fashion line & Lindi – textured novelty line. In the audience were buyers and media that attend the runway shows, presented 5 seasons a year at the CMC for the LA Fashion Markets, to source goods of fashionable designers and report LA’s fashion events.  The ambiance was laid back, classic LA culture.  A DJ played upbeat music and complimentary wines were available for the guests.  As for the fashion, each designer had its own interpretation of Summer 11 Collections, but a commonality of breezy and sheer blouses, safari influences of zebra and leopard prints, double-sided pockets on dresses and main colors consisting of beige, taupe, orange, turquoise, gray and yellow.  The overall presentation was pretty mellow, definitely not over the top, but wearable in real life.

As usually you did another great job of reporting the “What’s Happening Now” in the ever
changing world of fashion ! But it’s good to get the info from someone who knows fashion, and could easily be one of the models in the show ! lol
