Today we’ve announced that our world-class engineering crew have been secretly working on the design and production of the world’s first-ever glass-bottomed plane, created to ensure passengers can enjoy both an unparalleled flying experience, as well as a selection of stunning landscapes from the comfort of their seats.

The new aircraft will offer every passenger the chance of a bird’s eye view with an extra special opportunity to look down on the beautiful scenery of Great Britain as they fly.

The project has been personally funded by Richard Branson and overseen by Virgin Atlantic’s own Innovation team, who have been hard at work on this top secret project for several years. Richard set himself a personal goal to change the face of flying forever when he started Virgin Atlantic Airways in 1984 and this is one of many in the long line of aviation breakthroughs.

Samsung continues to vie with Apple for smartphone supremacy with this, the new Galaxy S4. Featuring a 5-inch AMOLED panel boasting 441 ppi for unparalleled clarity, the S4 aims to be the definitive multimedia smartphone. Ensuring that the crisp display doesn’t go to waste, the phone boasts a powerful 2GB RAM and will be running Android 4.2.2. Weighing at 130 grams, the S4 is 0.7 mm thinner and 3 grams lighter than its forerunner, impressive considering its large screen and battery. Improving its camera with f/2.2 aperture and autofocus, the S4 gets a bump to 13 megapixels for the rear-facing camera and 2 megapixels for the front-facing camera – which ties into a dual video call mode which allows callers to see what you’re looking at during video calls. The Samsung Galaxy S4 is set to hit stores globally at the end of April, in black and white with other hues in later months. There’s currently no price tag for this flagship, but we’re sure it’ll be worth the asking price.

    google-glass

Google has officially moven out of the “project” phase and into a new testing period for their Google Glass. Their latest video titled ‘How it Feels [through Glass] shows the world you will see through Google Glass. All video is said to be taken directly from the device and not fabricated. You can simply say “take a picture” and Google Glass does the rest. The keywords Glass takes seem to be effortless and so basic a toddler could do it. I’m not sure whether or not we should be excited for such a device or scared we are that much closer to becoming a cyborg.

Sony is set to launch the Xperia Z in the first quarter of 2013, a smartphone that can withstand submersion in up to 3 feet of water for 30 minutes. And while the ability to use the phone in the shower dominates the lede, the device’s other features aren’t shabby: a five-inch 1080p “reality” display, quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, LTE connectivity and 13-megapixel camera. Built-in NFC technology allows the Xperia Z to connect wirelessly to a variety of Sony products, including speakers, headphones and a new Sony Bravia television. Finally, tempered glass and anti-shatter film on both sides make the device durable and dust-resistant. The Sony Xperia Z is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2013, running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

As usual, when it comes to new Apple products, the rumor mills never stand still. Today we report about 5 features that the next generation iPhone will apparently come with and those sound very promising to us already.

    • A New Metal Body : apparently the new iPhone 5 will be housed in a liquidmetal (the commercial name for an alloy of titanium, zirconium, nickel, copper, and other metals) body
    • A Larger Screen: rumors are that the screen could go from 3.5 inches to 4.6 inches, which would be a massive increase. Considering the screen sizes of the latest Android phones, we have no doubt that Apple will increase the screen size. By how much exactly we still have to see.
    • Less Glass: the new display will feature a new type of glass that will also reduce the depth of the phone by quite a bit
    • 4G LTE: we have seen it on the new iPad, so it should definitely come with the new iPhone
    • iWallet: your phone comes a credit card
