Sitting under the stairs amidst a sea of fabric and patterns, Candis Alicia Hickman’s childhood hobbies were testament to her love of fashion.  From a young age she could be seen sitting in front of her mother’s old sewing machine attempting to turn a piece of timeworn fabric into a masterpiece.  This love of all things creative nurtured a desire to make her mark in the world of art and fashion.

Born and raised in Australia of African American and Australian descent, Candis was no stranger to diversity as a child.  During her university years, a love of travel and experiencing new cultures was cultivated and by the age of 24 Candis had placed her feet in ten different countries.  With a degree in Occupational Therapy and a certificate in Fashion Styling, Candis’ educational endeavors are as varied as her life’s experience to date.

Recently Candis joined the creative ranks at DrinkBlackWater as the Fashion and Art Director.  With this union her feet have been perfectly positioned to make their imprint on the arts and fashion industry.  Candis brings a plethora of insights to a brand which will in turn enable her creative talents to be showcased to a global audience.
